redeye postTime flies fast. Now it’s already 2013! Before we wave goodbye to the Mayans’ Great Cycle in 2012 and gear up for a new beginning in 2013, we want to share with you some exciting projects we’ve been working on!

Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock, Every Second is Precious

RedEye has continued to roll out videos for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to provide training for local law enforcement throughout the United States. The first in the series, the overview came out this past summer and quickly became a virtual tour for the general public. Videos two and three serve to guide  law enforcement agencies on resources available through NCMEC, exploring in detail the organizations divisions, such as the Case Analysis Division and the Missing Children Division. These useful and timely resources include the  Amber Alert Program, Team Adam Project, Project ALERT, and Child Victim Identification Program. We feel really honored to work with NCMEC in their efforts to support law enforcement in protecting and rescuing our children.

A Voice You Won’t Want to Miss!

Another project the RedEye team is enjoying working on is BET’s Lift Every Voice. The weekly 30-minute show interviews pop icons, celebrities, and leaders in the Gospel community about their faith and in a hope of inspiring people towards a positive attitude in life. In early February, the legendary artist Chaka Khan, who just won The BET HONORS 2013,  appeared on Lift Every Voice and shared her faith and 4 decade career in music. Her belief “to keep helping one another” is powerful and has always been the goodwill that RedEye holds dear.

And, the Winner is… RedEye Post!

This year, RedEyes work has again received recognition.  We are thrilled to see our name appear on the Television, Internet and Video Association’s 2012 award list! The non-profit organization, TIVA-DC gives out five awards for each category every year, and our “NCIS Mission” recieved a Bronze in the Program Open Category and our “PIV Card Promotional Video,” done in conjunction with DAI for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, won a Bronze in the Internal Communications Category. We appreciate these awards and will continue to create more quality and innovative videos for our clients.

A Laughter A Day Keeps the Doctors Away!

RedEye always likes to help out our clients with some pet projects, and recently we’ve helped out with “Karaoke In The Capital.”  The annual event is held by the Mid-Atlantic AAPC to “sing for a good cause.” It raises funds for Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation to support musical programs in schools. Check out more funny singing videos for 2012 here!

Schedule your Podcast Today!

What is a Podcast? – We see them all over the web now. – But what are they, really?  They are short episodic videos (or audio) – (Alright the real nitty gritty takes you deep into the Apple world when Apple developed a way to bring media to their iPod).  However, over time as Kleenex is to tissue : Podcast is now to the short videos (and audio programs) offering straight-forward and tightly packaged information about a single topic.

What do they look like? – Often they are a news style look, single person to camera or 2 people in an interview presenting a single topic or short newsletter overview.

So why do we bring up this concept to our clients?  Simply put, Podcasts are the future of communication to, and for, your clients.  And we here at RedEye have produced lots of them so we felt it was time to share with others. Check out some of the Podcast we have worked on in the past:

In watching these you will notice there is a variation in style.  One has a host on camera another is strictly voice over (or VO).  One sticks to one subject while the other touches on multiple topics and includes b-roll and sound bites.  One is used to promote, one educates and the third offers a newsletter overview of the organization activities.

Podcasts of all shapes and sizes are becoming so popular that we find we get several requests through out the year to produce them.  At first they were add-ons to larger projects.  Now, they are becoming more of a stand-alone element for our clients.  More and more they desire an on-camera element, and we felt it would be helpful if we could offer up studio time in bulk to several of our clients through out the year so they could take advantage of the discount we could offer.  Our bulk schedule allows you the rebate.   We are now booking for the end of March or early April – Schedule your time today!

What Comes Next..?

RedEye’s been asked to produce a video for the 2013 Pollie Award. It might be somewhat inappropriate and tongue in cheek, but that is just how we roll.  We’re looking forward to wrapping up our NCMEC series, and more video projects with clients old and new! Stay turned for the next RedEye Report!
