The Improvement of Smartphone Cameras
The iPhone 12 was recently released towards the end of October and like all the other past iPhones it was, and still is a hot item especially since it was released near the holidays. People are always curious to figuring out what new features are going to come with the latest phone on the market, and one feature that always seems to be talked about with iPhone releases is the camera quality. When the iPhone 11 was released it was the first iPhone to have two camera lenses. Then the iPhone 11 pro came out and had three lenses.
With that being said iPhone isn’t the only company increasing their camera lenses. The Nokia 9 PureView that was released last year has a total of five camera lenses. In this digital age companies have no choice but to improve camera quality. The use of social media makes the users and buyers of these devices want to be able to take the clearest photos and videos possible. The days of uploading blurry images and videos are long gone. By these smartphone companies using in additional cameras they are able to create products that are able to provide optical zoom and specialized shooting modes.
Why Camcorders Are Still important
Though smartphones may be bridging the gap between camcorders, the gap still exist and here’s why. Image stabilization, zoom, and image quality. These three aspects are very important for video and a camcorder has the ability to exceed the limits that are placed on a smartphone. Image stabilization eliminates shakiness while filming and unless you’re siting you phone on a tripod; smartphones do not have this tool. The zoom quality maybe good on smart phones but most zoom ranges are limited whereas the range on a camcorder is much higher. Lastly, when recoding a video using a smartphone if there is low light it will not produce a decent video. Meanwhile a camcorder allows for HD and 4k quality. For many professional’s videography is more than just capturing a video it’s about creating and being able to tell a story. Not only do camcorders have a large variety of settings but with these settings allow the person using them to maintain full creative control.
Camcorders for The Win
Cameras on our phones may always be improving but so are camcorders. Technology is always evolving, and camcorders are not going anywhere. I don’t believe that smartphones will ever surpass camcorders, but they’ll remain a useful tool that you can carry in your pocket at all times. Using a smartphone camera to capture a video as an option that compliments the quality and control offered by the use of a camcorder
