RedEye is flipping for Fall after an exciting summer packed with projects. Here’s what we’ve been working on, and a sneak peek at what’s to come!

Collaborating with Advocates

This year we continued our work with Georgetown University Center for Children and Families (CCF). It was RedEye’s great honor to complete another series of specialized Video News Releases.  These VNR’s were developed for the individual state advocacy agencies.  In addition RedEye completed a 15 minute short documentary on Medicaid: A Promise to America.  CCF, an independent, nonpartisan policy and research center, was founded in 2005. CCF has a mission to support access to high-quality, comprehensive and affordable health coverage for all of America’s children and families.

The Annual Meeting

RedEye was again invited to cover CCF’s 2017 annual meeting and record special messages on the importance and continued value of Medicaid in America.  We shot additional personal family stories and edited these state specific Medicaid messages shortly after the summer session.  They were then released to the individual organizations to use for their own state legislature needs.

Medicaid: A Promise to America

2017 and 2018 have held particularly unsettling moments around the conversation of  health care and access to coverage.  This has included some very pointed legislative attempts to cut or significantly alter how the American population accesses Medicaid and/or Health Care.  As a result it seemed appropriate to take a renewed look at the tangible value Medicaid offers not just to those who receive the direct assistance but the benefits we as tax payers receive as well.  We worked with CCF to create a short documentary that was debuted at the 2018 annual conference. This documentary explored what Medicaid is, how it works and why it’s important, by following several families who shared how Medicaid is effecting their lives.

National Park Trust 2018

RedEye celebrated 11 years working with National Park Trust (NPT).

This year, the recipient was Senator Martin Heinrich (NM). It was thanks to his leadership that enabled the creation of two treasured National Monuments in New Mexico — the Rio Grande del Norte and the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monuments. He was also recognized for his incredible support and advocacy for the protection of our national parks and public lands and waters.

Online Webinar Training

This fall, RedEye continued our long standing online training work with Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA). While there are so many recent changes to the financial laws, this has meant updating and revising several courses for 10’s of thousands of employees looking to further their knowledge and fulfill their continuing education of the financial legal requirements. RedEye has been developing a variety of e-learning programs for various LMS’s.

Friends bestow Ellen V Sigal Leadership Award and Cancer Leadership Award

Dr. Richard Klausner recipient of the – FOCR Ellen V. Sigal Leadership Advocacy Award

Friends of Cancer Research (Friends) held their 21st leadership honors program celebrating the great works of two steadfast advocates for Cancer Research.  The honorees this year included Dr. Richard Klausner & Dr. Tony Fauci.

Friends of Cancer Research drives collaboration among partners from every healthcare sector to power advances in science, policy, and regulation that speed life-saving treatments to patients.

It was RedEye’s great privilege to travel (physically and virtually) across the country to capture the profound regard so many have for these two worthy recipients.

Dr. Richard Klausner received this year’s Ellen V. Sigal Advocacy Leadership Award for his role in starting Friends of Cancer Research 22 years ago and the work he has done to further science and cancer research through his tenure as NCI Director and beyond.  And Friends of Cancer research honored Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, for his extraordinary work throughout the years. From his pivotal role in fighting the HIV epidemic and ebola, Dr. Fauci’s work has expanded into cancer research, spurring the use of immunotherapies and precision medicine.  We congratulate them.
