The only people that are probably saddened by this news, are the developers behind Avid and Adobe Premiere. Apple has listened to the whines of their loyal customers, and made Final Cut Studio 3 back on sale!
For the time being, you can only purchase the suite (which includes Final Cut Pro 7, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 3, DVD Studio Pro 4, Color 1.5 and Compressor 3.5) only by calling Apple directly (1-800-MY-APPLE) for $999 or $899 for educational purposes.
I can tell you that Laura is pretty relieved about this news.
