Less Taxing, More Relaxing!

Ahhhh it’s that time of the year again, that one dreaded day…National Tax Day. Doing your taxes can be a bit challenging especially if you’re like me and this is your first time. So this year think less about taxing and more about relaxing! I have compiled a short list of simple
ways to de-stress and stay calm when in the midst of a stressful situation.

Whether it’s a stressful situation at work, a fast approaching deadline , or your trying to navigate through your taxes, these 6 tips to de-stress are perfect for any high pressure, stressful situation…

  • Grab Your Headphone!
    • Listening to music is a great way to not only relieve some pressure but also keep you focused and productive. For instance, slow music especially soft, quiet, classical can lower blood pressure, decrease levels of stress hormones, and slow down pulse and heart rate. Where as fast music can make you feel more alert and energized, which will help you concentrate better.
  • Take a Deep Breath..or 5
    • By doing some meditating and deep breathing exercises it can help clear your head, and can help when you have too much on your mind.
      • Here’s one of my favorites

Excessive caffeine use can cause potential side effects such as insomnia, nervousness or restlessness, stomach irritation, increased heart rate and respiration, all of which can only bog you down more in stressful situations.
