RedEye can’t believe we are already firmly planted in 2017! Time really does fly by when you’re having fun! After an exciting and fun filled fall/winter, and before we dive completely into spring, we want to share a sample of everything we have been working on and a glimpse of what’s to come.
Our Old Friends!
RedEye has been honored to work closely with Friends of Cancer Research on many projects. Friends of Cancer Research is a non-profit advocacy organization that “drives collaboration among partners from every healthcare sector to power science, policy and regulation that speed life-saving treatments to patients.” We were thrilled to partner with Friends again on their 20th-anniversary project! This took us on a cross-country journey interviewing and speaking with various cancer warriors. This amazing experience then led to us assisting with 3 very special honorary features. These videos highlighted the personal stories of 3 research rock stars, Dr. Eric Landers, Dr. Janet Woodcock, and Mr. Sean Parker. These features dove into the lives of these honorees and made their debut at the Friends of Cancer Research 20th-anniversary celebration. The research and cross-country interviews have since inspired Friend’s latest project, “My Story.” “My Story” is a new engaging innovative blog series that takes a deeper look into individual’s lives who were altered by cancer. By allowing these stories to the told in fuller detail, we are also able to share how the work of Friends has played a powerful and positive role in moving cancer research forward. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G9ZJjm7duY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCKoLLvglggOur work with Friends has not stopped here. As RedEye has been expanding our multi-media reach we are also excited to share that we have collaborated with Friends on creating an online learning course. The course goals were to educate patient advocates about how the FDA review and regulation process works by breaking it down into smaller more understandable sections. The course offers an overview of the history of the FDA, organizational structure, and case studies related to drug advancements. It features everything team members need to know about how the FDA operates and how to be successful when advocating for cancer research.
Collaborating with Advocates
Partnering up with organizations that are on a mission to bring positive change to society is what we love to do! This past fall we have worked on various projects with Georgetown University Center for Children & Families (CCF) creating video news releases that serve as educational tools for individual states. These various projects have one main concept in mind— to convey how important it is to preserve Medicaid and CHIP and how critical these programs are to the health and well-being of America’s children. (And as we see the tumultuous Health Care movements on Capitol Hill – now more than ever, it is important to fully understand the value this programs in everyone’s lives – not just those who receive the direct benefit.)

That Dirty Word – Politics
On a final note: You mention the p-word lately and most people cringe. However, the foundation for a strong country includes – freedom of press, speech, assembly of ideas and yes, elected officials and ballot initiatives. Everyone wants great schools, clean water, safe roads and bridges, jobs and affordable domestic products. But we often differ on how to make that happen. RedEye was quite active in many political campaigns during the fall season. They ranged from small local races to large national campaigns. There are great candidates and issues on both sides of the aisle and we are happy to say we play an active role in helping get those ideas heard so that informed voters can make the best choice.
