Walked into work at 9:30am, chat with my two colleagues for a quick second then started my work. Today is a good day; with Elvis playing on NLE2…do you love me!! Or that sweet blues, which I cant, seem to make out, thanks Valeria. Or my favorite song, “Stepping Stone” I must say I look forward to coming to work daily.

  • Organizing folders for the lacrosse team. Color coordinating, picking out blurry, team spirit, victory, or faces indicating not a good day.
  • One of my favorite quotes comes from a client of Redeye, BET producer Christian T, which states, “ A setback is a setup for a comeback” TD Jakes!! I always love to  read Mr. T emails just to remind myself with that quote.

What can I say, but I must be one of the luckiest girls ever!!! Now don’t start sulking with a jealous demeanor after reading that line.

Thank you, thank you.

Imagine being in a professional setting, you’re at your desk and in front of you sits a huge mac computer with a wireless mouse, nice comfy black leather chair and of course, a nice air conditioned feel. Right now it is 91 degrees so you know I am appreciating this feeling.  But back to what I was saying, you’re in this professional setting, but the individuals you work with are calm, relaxed but at the same time highly professional… I gave you that scenario so that you can picture me at my job. RedEye has an amazing staff, working hard against time everyday to make sure each client is receiving the best and fair service.

No no no, I am not saying this because I am their intern, I’m saying it because of the experiences I have had so far. I think their new logo should be “You can always count on us!!!”

I guess I spoke too soon about that phrase.  Now the main point of contact and a major part of the company’s brain has left for the week and my supervisor hints “you’re in control.” With a smile on my face, my brains suddenly went and sat on the clouds pondering if I can begin to maintain such control as Valeria does. As an intern, there will be times when you are given extensive roles to cover and people are in fact depending on you. Now is my time.

I didn’t do as bad as I thought I would. I was busy dragging and dropping folders into previously created ones and color labeling them as I went along.

Yet another day I have had an amazing learning experience at REDEYE!

Bye for now, but not for long.
