RedEye is all set for fall after an excited summer packed with projects. Here’s what we’ve been working on, and a sneak peek at what’s to come!
Doing Our Part to Protect Vulnerable Children
RedEye has worked with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children since 2001, and is honored to have the opportunity to work on a new video: Children Missing From Care.
This is the 9th video that RedEye has produced for NCMEC, and is an educational tool about the Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act (H.R. 4980). The video targets social workers, law enforceme
nt, child welfare agencies, and other involved in non-parental custody about the law, which was enacted on September 2014. H.R. 4980 says that state agencies must report a child missing from out-of-home care to both law enforcement and to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
We love being a part of the incredibly rewarding work that NCMEC does, and can’t wait to keep creating more award-winning projects with them!
Collaborating with Advocates
We love working with organizations that are on a mission to bring positive change to society. This summer, we worked with Georgetown University Center for Children & Families (CCF) in creating an image piece celebrating their decade-long work providing research and resources to those advocating for affordable, high-quality health care coverage for children and families in the United States.
In addition, we also produced a series of short videos with CCF and state healthcare advocates celebrating the 50th anniversary of Medicaid.
Technology Workshops
Have you ever thrown your phone across the room because of technology failure or frustration? Have you ever wondered why your teenager knows more about your computer than you? The technology workshops at RedEye are a good way to end this frustration. This is a good opportunity for general public to hone their basic skills of computers (Mac and PC), programs, cell phones and tablets, social media, and many more.
RedEye hosted three workshops this summer – on web design, an overview of the Adobe Creative Suite, and a Social Media bootcamp. The programs were free to everyone who signed up online. RedEye post will be hosting more workshops in the future so look out for any information regarding technology workshops. If you have an idea for an upcoming workshop you’d like to attend, let us know!
Honoring Those That Protect our Natural Resources
RedEye was brought on board once again to work with the National Park Trust to create a video for their annual Bruce F. Vento Public Service Award. Senator Rob Portman (Ohio) received Award on June 16, 2015 in Washington DC at the Newseum. NPT honored Portman for his work here in Washington DC and also in his home state of Ohio. Portman refers to national parks as “a cherished resource.” SenatorPortman serves on the Senate Finance Committee, and is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Fiscal Responsibility and Economic growth. RedEye helped illustrate Portman’s past achievements and future achievements including his commitment to legislation and other duties regarding preservation for all national parks today. New interns in the house
RedEye is a company that is constantly growing and evolving with the help of eager to learn interns from all around the world. Each semester new interns come into the RedEye house willing to lend a hand on all of the amazing projects RedEye has in store for them. Toni and Tori were RedEye’s interns for the summer and were ready for a whole new learning experience. Toni and Tori were both from University of Indiana, Pennsylvania but come from completely different areas of study.
This time around RedEye plans on welcoming a senior from the Institute of Business Administration in Pakistan. The new intern is all set to learning the techniques related to post production. In this way RedEye continues its tradition of mentoring and educating eager minds.
And The Awards Goes To…..
RedEye has done it again, winning the 2015 Best of Alexandria Award for Television Media Specialist for seven years in a row. RedEye is now up for the Alexandria Business Hall of Fame award. The best of Alexandria is one of many awards RedEye has received throughout the years.
Moreover, the company’s work on NCMEC and Healthspan was rewarded with a Telly award. This award honors the finest film and video productions that exhibit groundbreaking web commercials, videos and, films. RedEye won their first telly award in 2001.
Senators, Mayors, and Lobbyists, Oh My!
September started off with a quick interview with Senator John McCain for an upcoming project! That’s just the beginning of what RedEye is preparing for the rest of the fall season. We’re hard at work developing training courses, award celebrations, maybe even a few commercials for a mayoral race, and who knows, maybe we’ll even help cure cancer and eradicate global disease. ¯\_(?)_/¯
