Today I got my hands on the Beta tapes for the Aging Alliance Research 25th Anniversary video we’re doing. It was my job to digitize them and upvert them to 1080i HD. Believe it or not, this wasn’t the first time I’ve seen, touched, or watched a Beta tape. Back in the day, my father was one of the few who decided to go with Beta vs. VHS (good goin’ dad) so I remember pushing in tapes and hitting the play button at age 2.
Let me tell you now that I have a fascination with film. Seeing all the ranges in types of tapes laying around RedEye just excites me. I even got to see what a 3/4″ tape looks like (What a beauty! Biancia got to digitize that one.) Is it weird that I got all jittery inside while digitizing and upverting the tapes? I mean just the thought of bringing film onto your computer, digitally, and upverting it to HD. I want to dig up some of our old Beta tapes to bring in and upvert them haha. I could digitize all day…. yeah, I guess it’s weird- I’m weird haha 😛
In till next time,
