Judging Justice & Human Rights Contest

IMAG3248

Capital City Public Charter School hosted a student contest on the issue of immigration, justice and human rights at The Washington Post. Each student team created powerful articles and photo essays showcasing the stories of everyday people dealing with these issues. RedEye was part of a judging team of volunteers made up of communication professionals and Washington Post journalists  to evaluate the creations. We were pleased to have been a part of these group of people who came out to support these up and coming members of our society. The kids learned not just about the issues at hand, but also the reality of writing on a deadline and creating impactful and thoughtful articles about society today.
