In an attempt to cater to all the people that took to the interwebs to complain about Final Cut Pro X — Apple issued a free update to the software, as well as a free 30-day Trial.

Some of the new features added in the update bring back elements of FCP7, such as Custom Starting Timecodes and Rich XML Support.

But it has apparently yet to implement certain features that are so seamless in FCP7,  such as the ability to cut-and-paste attributes and keeping track of marked in-and-out points.  There’s a good selection of these little quirks that FCP editors have become adjusted to that are missing in FCPX over on Jeff Reigel’s blog.  Hopefully these things will be something that Apple will introduce in later upgrades to make FCPX more than just a glorified iMovie.

Apple has already promised to introduce new features to FCPX early next year, such as multicam editing and broadcast-quality video monitoring.
