Yesterday’s LifeHacker had a great “Ask and Answer” Thread dedicated exclusively to Video Editing.
Most of the tips from commentators include ideas about software for the at-home user, but there’s some great insight there on how certain programs / devices work.
For example, for anyone looking to invest in an iPad to do some on-the-fly video editing via the iMovie app, it apparently only works with video recorded from Apple Devices (ie, you built in cam on the iPhone, iPad2, and MacBook)
The main topic of the thread involves how to embed multi-language subtitles into MP4s to stream on mobile devices. Which at this point in my life just sounds like backwards pig-latin in a french accent.
